According to Michelle Kempton, people who aregoal oriented can place themselves under a great deal of stress. Often when we reach our goals, we are unable to relax and enjoy the success.
Michelle has made this one of the focus points of her coaching. She lives in Grenada, Spain and works almost exclusively with Doctors, who have a lot of self-induced stress.
She provided a set of exercises that help to simplify life while creating a focused direction to reach desired outcomes. Michelle calls these the “3 stepsof simplified action”.
Step One: Wheel of Life. Directs you to look at what is working in your life and what isn’t. This sharpens your focus on what is important, and is the goal setting stage.
Step Two: Leverage Tool. Uses your dreams and your fears to create a powerful motivation for success.
As Michelle told us, “Shoot for the moon, and you at least land among the stars.”She also told us that acknowledging fear is vital to this step.
Step Three: Guided Imagery. Determines the next one or two steps to reach your goal by accessing the wisdom of your future self. Then these steps are written down with a completion date. They are written beginning with “I will…” and end with “by the date…”. It’s all about the one or two actions, not the fifty. This becomes a commitment to you.
Taking these first focused actions will reduce the stress in your life.
