Focus Factor

Thornton is a Business Coach and Motivational Speaker. Here is a gentleman that truly practices what he
preaches.

His focus is on helping people get results by reaching their full potential.

The key points covered were:

· Know yourself, it’s important to understand your vision.
· Know what you want – you should first identify what you don’t want, then choose what you do want, followed by a written declaration.
· Be your focus and see your focus – operate as if the results are already there. Use your intuition. Narrow the focus to what you need to do now. Live in the present.
· Set and measure your goals – you must quantify. Ask,” what happened?” You should be prepared to adjust. Stretch goals are goals that cause you to reach a little farther. This will accelerate results. You should review your progress all the time.
· Get help – you should collaborate with other people that offer a different perspective and expose you to new resources.
· Be committed and be accountable- this speaks for itself.

The coach also stressed that there is power in what you say. Think and speak only in positive terms. Speak of what you want to accomplish to others.

Have faith that things are going to turn out. Be courageous about what you want to have and what will make a difference
for you. Have passion. Passion is like a fuel. Thornton is fueled up
and ready to assist!

Marketing Magic

Steve Hartman bubbles while he talks about what he does for businesses. He gave statistics at the beginning of his talk to remind us
that we are the most important asset of our business, so we should
treat ourselves that way.

Then he got funny and told us some of his marketing ploys and
campaigns before he gave us a list of things to keep in mind.
So what are some of those questions?

• What makes me different?
• What is my perfect niche?
• How do I state my Vision
(this is the long view and not about
money = a direction, not a destination;
East, not NYC)?
• What are my goals (set them
higher)?
• How will I approach social
networking to lead clients to me?
• Do I need a sales staff? If
so, who?

Steve ended this useful workshop by giving us a printed tool to determine weekly or daily activities for a year’s success, going in reverse with the first question: “How much Congratulations
Veronica Young money do you want to earn this year?” finally breaking the numbers down to a daily target number that is doable.

Even that data cruncher elicited laughter. It was a joy of a workshop.
